2          The candidates who are selected for appointment as an LSO will be subject to a three-contract framework totalling four years. 4          The candidates with five years or less of strong relevant legal work experience may, at the discretion of the Legal Service, have their prior legal experience recognised and be eligible for the award of additional increments and/or appointment at a higher Timescale grade.

5          The candidates who are appointed to the Legal Service and thereafter satisfy the requisite promotion criteria may be considered for possible Lock Step Promotion on the completion of the requisite contract and in accordance with the Legal Service progression framework.

6         The possible offer(s) to an LSO of a second or subsequent contract, and the possible emplacement on the permanent establishment of an LSO, are subject to the quality of the LSO’s work, demonstrated potential and strong performance during the period(s) of the contract(s).
