The benefits offered by the Singapore Legal Service/Public Service include:

  • the possible award of an annual Variable Increment in the gross monthly salary (referred to as "Merit Increment" in the Public Service);
  • the possible award of a Performance Bonus;
  • the possible award of a Legal Professional Allowance;
  • the possible award (as determined by Government) of an Annual Variable Component and a Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance;
  • medical benefits:
    • subsidised outpatient treatment; and
    • 2% contribution by Government to the officer’s Medisave account;
  • dental benefits of up to 85% (i.e. up to $120 per calendar year) subsidy for dental treatment for each calendar year; and
  • leave per calendar year:

    • vacation leave of 18 days;
    • medical leave of 14 days/60 days if warded in hospital;
    • maternity leave (subject to the requisite criteria) of up to 16 weeks;
    • paternity leave of up to 2 weeks; and
    • parent care leave of up to 2 calendar days.
